Craft Group hours count for your community hours commitment on the same basis as other activities around the school. You will need to update your hours online weekly, and one of the co-ordinators then signs them off. You are also very welcome to just drop in and have a chat while doing your own craft, but this doesn’t count towards your hours!
Contact craftgroup@oranaschool.com to join our mailing list or to let us know if you want to become an at-home crafter.
We have our very own Pinterest page so we can keep up with those brilliant craft ideas which help make the Craft Group stall at the Spring Fair so appealing. Or drop in one day and look at the CG display cabinet in the foyer of the Kurrajong room to see what we’ve been doing recently.
Watch out for our articles through the year in the Leaflet and Seasons to keep up with all the CG news, and keep an eye on this page for any changes to dates.
Term 3 2021 – Spring is in the air
The Orana Craft Group would like to extend a very warm welcome to all new and continuing families at Orana School, and invite you to join us in building the community spirit of the school through craft. Term 3 offers many different crafting opportunities, as well as extra ways to support the school through the ‘40 dolls for 40 years’ Orana Anniversary knitting project.
This term we will still be following the COVID-safe rules provided by the school:
- Practice social distancing of 1.5m between people
- Do not use any of the Kurrajong supply of cups, plates etc
- You can bring your own drinks in a travel mug
- No sharing food or drink – so no dips or similar.
- Wipe down high touch areas and used bench spaces, tables etc. after use
- Do not attend if you are unwell
Children are once again very welcome to attend Craft Group, but must remain under your supervision at all times, which includes watching over them if they are playing outside, and returning the room and sandpit/outdoor areas to their pristine states. Please bring food and drink for yourself and your children, noting the Kurrajong is a nut-free area.
Saturday craft days will run from 10 to 1 or a bit later. We’ll send a reminder via the mail list in the week before each session and will allocate places on a first come first in basis. So when that email drops into your inbox, RSVP quickly to the CG mailbox and we’ll add you to the list of that week’s crafters. We will need at least 5 attendees to run a session, so please come as often as you can; our maximum number will be 25.
We are always keen for new crafters to join us – and we’d love to share the joy of CG more widely through the Orana community. Come for a cuppa and stay for some craft time!
We’re looking forward to meeting you this term at CG!
