This week, students had the wonderful opportunity to learn from Stephen Chin, a highly respected Australian composer, violinist, and music educator from Queensland. Stephen has performed with leading ensembles including the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and has extensive experience as a conductor, examiner, and workshop clinician across Australia and internationally.
With advanced qualifications in music and a Master of Music specialising in performance and pedagogy, Stephen is widely recognised for his contributions to string education and for composing engaging works for young musicians.
During his visit, students benefited from his deep expertise in string performance and ensemble playing, gaining insight into technique, musical expression, and collaboration. Experiences like this enrich our music program, inspiring students while connecting their classroom learning to the wider world of professional music.
