Swimming Carnival – AIS
Wed 22 April
Students in Years 2–5 recently participated in the Primary Region Swimming event held at the Australian Institute of Sport on Monday 30 March. The day provided students with the opportunity to develop their skills in a supportive and encouraging environment while representing the school with enthusiasm and determination. Following this event, selected students qualified to progress to the Regional Swimming Carnival at the AIS on Wednesday 22 April, where they competed against schools from across the region in their qualifying events.
Living in Australia, confidence in and around water is an important life skill. Opportunities such as swimming carnivals help students build not only physical strength and coordination, but also self-assurance, resilience and a positive sense of teamwork. Within Steiner education, experiences that nurture confidence through active participation support the healthy development of the child, encouraging courage, cooperation and respect for others achievements.
