Year 11 Geology Excursion Fitzpatrick Trackhead Wee Jasper

The 11MLE4 Geology class went on a caving excursion to the Wild Caves at Fitzpatrick Trackhead Reserve, near Wee Jasper on Thursday 30th April. The excursion gave students a memorable experience and they learnt about limestone, fossils and chemical weathering. After arrival at about 10am, students were guided through the large Signature Cave, including some exploration of very tight side passages. This will be followed by a relaxed barbeque lunch and then the Dogleg Cave. This last cave involved crawling along a 150m underground stream and then back out.
