For their first assessable task, year 12 students are determining the acidity of different brands and types of vinegar, including supermarket vinegar, rice wine vinegar, and extra strength vinegar. They are using titration with a known concentration solution of sodium hydroxide that they made themselves. The end point of the titration is a lovely blush, pink colour. This process requires patience, careful practice, and perseverance if the end point is missed and a bright pink appears!
