Class 3 ended the Term with our Building Shelters Main Lesson. The children learnt about Australian Indigenous shelters as well as indigenous shelters from around the world. They learnt how to build a survival shelter from natural materials in the bush. They also reflected on how the local climate and environment will affect the types of materials used and the shelter design. They then designed and built a model of their own shelter in the garden. Next Term in outdoor classroom they will build a life-sized outdoor survival shelter.
