The Rose Ceremony at Orana celebrates the journey the children have been on so far in Kindergarten and now the transition into Class One where the more formal learning and the loving authority of the Class teacher period begins. As the children are led by their Kindergarten teacher out of the Bluebell garden, along the bridge and toward the Class One garden, they are holding their rose and are quietly contemplating how much they have grown and anticipating how special their new adventure in Class One will be. The rose in the ceremony is a meaningful tradition at Orana as a symbol of love, maturity and growth, and is gifted to their new Class teacher as they are welcomed into their new classroom.
Once the children were taken in to class, the parents enjoyed a wonderful morning tea prepared by Murray at the canteen where they had a chance to chat with James (Principal) and Jacinta (Acting Deputy Principal/Head of Primary)
