This term Class 2 have been happily exploring living things as part of our Science curriculum through our new Main Lesson, ‘Watch it grow’.
We have our tadpoles in the classrooms, nurtured our avocado seeds to sprout, and on an excursion to the National Botanic gardens, we were able to see and experience life and how things grow close up.
As part of this Main Lesson we are also exploring how things change as they grow. Children ask a range of important questions such as:
“I wonder if all living things change and get bigger as they get older?”
“Is an egg alive?”
“How did dinosaurs disappear?”
The children have bought in photos of when they were babies, which we will use to answer some of our burning questions about life, the universe and everything!
