Deputy Principal Report – Week 6

It has been a busy term for us all, which has proved critical to building upon achievement for the end of semester reporting. It’s been very pleasant to hear of the wide variety of activities and experiences staff and students have had throughout the term.

Our students have been busy taking part in various incursions and excursions this fortnight. Some of these activities include: ANU Maths Day, Science and Engineering Challenge, Main Lesson Architecture, Botany and Meteorology, Oceanography and Climatology excursions, World Maths Workshops and the Years 9 and 10 Drama Performances at the Canberra Theatre.

We celebrated National Reconciliation Week with an assembly and numerous class activities, to gain a better understanding of Aboriginal Australian culture, and promote cultural exchange and understanding.

Students in Years 10, 11 and 12 have been encouraged to seek career and tertiary pathway advice from their parents, teachers and Pathway Coordinator, Kirstie Brass. We encourage our Senior students to consider the numerous options available to them. We have enjoyed listening to the goals and aspirations of our Senior students and look forward to ensuring they reach these goals. If your child has yet to organise a meeting with Kirstie, please be in touch.

As we approach the middle of the year, our Year 12 students presented their Class 12 Projects to their peers and Senior College staff. The projects are incredibly unique and exciting and reflect the amount of hard work each student has put into their project since the start of the school year. As a staff faculty, we are looking forward to their final presentations at the end of the year. We hope you can join us to celebrate their achievements!
