As we come to the end of Week 4 students should be settled in their classes and have completed their first assessment tasks. We have spent some time in the first weeks of school during Guardian time focussing on organisation of school work, outside commitments and achieving a responsibility for a sense of pride in their playground spaces and classrooms. This is to prepare our students to achieve success in their classes, other commitments and an understanding of our individual footprint in sharing a community space.
Parent Information evenings have occurred across all year groups. We thank parents for their attendance, questions and feedback on the start of the school year. We encourage parents to continue to monitor Schoolbox for information regarding your child’s progress and tasks that are coming up. Working together and being interested in what your child is learning will have a positive impact on their experience and educational outcomes.
We have moved into our second Main Lesson of the year across all year groups during the week. Students will be, or have been, receiving feedback on assessment tasks throughout the previous Main Lesson or in the coming week for bigger tasks that were completed at the conclusion of the Main Lesson. This feedback will be vital for your child’s improvement and growth.
Our Year 12 students have begun their first formal interviews on what their year long project will be for 2022. The staff and I are very much looking forward to the final product. We have a wide variety of proposals which will be entertaining and informative.
If you have a concern about your child, please make sure you reach out to the appropriate staff member. If you are unsure, please contact the School Office on 62884283 or via email info@oranaschool.com
The Front Office or High School Receptionist, Clare Biggerstaff, can provide advice on who to contact if required. This can be regarding academic performance, absence, or wellbeing.
