High School and Senior College

It has been so exciting to report another term of achievement and excellence amongst our students and teachers alike in Term 3. Despite the ups and downs, we have all been living through, our staff and students continue to take advantage of all opportunities that come their way, to engage in meaningful learning, extra-curricular activities and sporting excursions.

It was wonderful to showcase our Class 9 and 10 comedy Drama performance this week. A big thank you to Isabella for directing the performance.

This term, we were fortunate to have reasonable weather on the Year 8 snow camp. Plenty of smiles, fun and snowball fights were had by both staff and students. Their excitement was evident in the chatter on their return back to School.

Cultural excursions have been organised for High School Japanese classes this week, with lots of hands on and interactive knowledge being shared.

We have continued to run our rowing program, with Mike leading the way over the weekend with a rowing camp at Nelligan. We look forward to hearing about the results in competitions that will be coming up soon.

Our Orana Year 10 Basketball team, coached by Steve McKinnon, was successful in making the grand final in their first winter season competition. They unfortunately lost in a nail bitter game by 1 point.

We had a successful Come and Try day with our current Year 6 students and new students in preparation for Year 7 2023. Thank you to all the staff who organised activities and our senior students who assisted throughout the day. We are really looking forward to the students joining us in the High School next year.

A huge thank you to all the staff who have given so much time to all the extra-curricular activities this term. We hope you all have a wonderful break and look forward to an exciting and busy Term 4.
