High School Happenings

High School Camps

Camps are an integral component of Orana and Steiner education as students learn so much and experience things they normally wouldn’t get to as well as are guided in a healthy and safe way to push through their comfort zone and try something new.

During week 5 of term, Year 6, 7 and 10 students attended camp. It was a fantastic opportunity to have our 6, 7 & 10’s together at Jindabyne exploring the outdoors, building connections with students and staff, challenging themselves and of course having fun. All students and staff were smiling but certainly exhausted on Friday afternoon.

Year 6 Orientation Day

Last week, we hosted a mini High School experience for current Year 6 students and our new enrolments for Year 7 2025. The energy was extremely positive and our teachers and Year 10 students had a wonderful time with all the children, getting to know them, and sharing what we do in Orana’s High school. We are very much looking forward to our new cohort of Year 7 students joining us officially next year.

Year 10 Formal and Year 6 Bridge Crossing

Other milestones that have been celebrated this week and next week have been Year 10’s final day and their Formal. We look forward to the Year 6 Bridge crossing next Monday with staff, parents and students as the students leave the Primary School stage of their journey and move into the new season of High School. These pivotal moments of celebration and reflection are special. They become part of the rhythm of life. Thank you to everyone involved in creating milestone markers that are often intimate, authentic moments.

Year 9 Entrepreneurs in Action

A group of enterprising Year 9 students have launched their own car washing business at school, showcasing their initiative and teamwork. This self-run venture not only offers a practical service but also provides them with valuable hands-on experience in preparation for the Year 10 Work Experience program. Their dedication and creativity are an inspiration to all, proving that real-world skills start with taking the first step.
