From the Principal

Festivals and Events.

How wonderful it is to have our events back! Tonight we have our Twilight Concert and no doubt it will be full of entertainment, joy and beautiful music. I look forward to joining a number of you for this evening’s event in the Overture to celebrate our children’s achievements. Our ELC and Kindergarten children celebrated the ‘Harvest Festival’ last week and this week. There has been so much wonderful work done by teachers and students during the past month preparing for these magical moments. The pure joy it elicits is extraordinary to witness — just look at the photos! Next Friday we celebrate the Class 1-12 Harvest Festival, we welcome the whole community to attend this event.

Congratulations to our High School and Senior College Rowing Team who achieved some outstanding results in Penrith last weekend. We are very proud of your achievements but most importantly your spirit and teamwork. Many thanks to parents for your support and dedication, and Susan for your support on the weekend. A very big thank you to Mike Brady for his guidance and coaching throughout the entire season, many early mornings and weekend’s have been graciously given.

All of this is worthy of reflection. So many ‘aha’ moments each day. Every day is important, and there is so much to honor in the children’s efforts.

Strategic Survey

Thank you to everyone who completed the strategy survey. We had 162 families respond and this will form an outstanding foundation for our review process. Our external survey administrators have begun the analysis already and as soon as it is completed and we have a set of insights we will share the results with all of you. Thanks again for investing the time to complete the survey and contribute to our strategic thinking when many of us are time poor, it’s really appreciated.

Communication

We are heading towards the completion of Term 1 and this tends to mean students can be a little tired and exhausted. We would like parents to continue to monitor Schoolbox for information regarding your child’s progress and tasks that are coming up. Working together and showing interest in what your child is learning will have a positive impact on your child’s experience and educational outcomes. If you have a concern about your child, please make sure you reach out to the appropriate staff member. If you are unsure, please contact the school office on 6288 4283 or via email at info@oranaschool.com. The front office or high school receptionist can provide advice on who to contact if required. This can be regarding academic performance, absence, or wellbeing.
