Year 11 and 12 Romanticism and Architecture Camp

This year we ran two camps in one when Year 11s went to Sydney for a Romanticism experience, and Year 12s focused on Architecture. We all stayed together at night, camping on Cockatoo Island. Part of the experience was using public transport, train, light rail, bus and ferry with added walking and more walking, which gives a special sense of the distances involved and a physical connection to the landscape. The activities of the camp were linked to the knowledge gained in the two Main Lessons. Year 11s reveled in different aspects of The Sublime, and Year 12s engaged with the built environment from colonial Sydney and its foundations through to cutting-edge modern architecture. The experience was a fantastic wrap up of the semester.
