It will be said many times over the next two months that this is a busy time of year. It is important that we all take care of ourselves and one another during this frantic time of year. Taking care of yourself can simply mean stopping to breathe and letting go of small problems that are weighing you down. Supporting and caring for others, spending quality time with loved ones and doing things we enjoy are important ways we can role model this to our children. When we care for ourselves, we are able to care for others much better.

CYBER SAFETY is everyone’s business and we need to keep up with the ever-changing world of technology and social media. It was great to have a presentation from the police outlining things parents and students need to be aware of last week. If you were unable to attend, the session was recorded and is available. Staffing Change
Alexandra White will sadly be leaving Orana at the conclusion of next week. Alex has been invaluable in her role as EA to the Principal and Board Secretary. I’m sure many of you have had contact with Alex and know how much work she has done for the school in both of her roles. We wish Alex well in her new endeavors as an EO for a private company.
Staff Achievement
I would like to acknowledge and congratulate Suzanne Goddard and Brandon Ha on their Exemplary Course presentations from the most recent BSSS Moderation day. Exemplary presentations highlight course areas that are leading the way, having been judged by reviewers at System Moderation Day to have Outstanding elements of curriculum coverage, reliability of assessment, levels of thinking, and feedback to students. In addition, reviewers have affirmed the grades awarded, and that the presentations were complete in their provision.
Congratulations are also in order for Jacinta Lai who has successfully completed her ISTAA (Independent Schools Teacher Accreditation Authority) accreditation this year. This is a very rigorous process that experienced teachers undertake to reach the highest possible achievement in their teaching and leading of other colleagues. Well done Jacinta!
