Our Year 6 students investigated the symbolism and beauty of Parliament House and gardens. They participated in a mock debate of a bill in a replica of the House of Representatives. They also had opportunity to talk to the Member for Bean and Government Whip, David Smith MP. Mr Smith also provided the students with a certificate marking their visit. I was wonderful to see our students engage and enjoy learning about the foundation of the Australian democracy and how they might impact it in years to come.
