Craft Group

Ever wanted to learn how to make those lovely Steiner toys your children are playing with?  Want to earn your community hours meeting new friends and discovering new skills?  Come and try Orana Craft Group!

We meet in the Kurrajong craft room on weekends during term time (see below for this term’s dates) and enjoy a cuppa and a chat at the Craft Group Cafe while creating marvellous items in the Steiner tradition.

We supply all the materials for you to make wonderful works of Steiner-inspired art for sale at the Spring Fair. And no need to worry if you are all thumbs – there are always plenty of helpers to support you and teach you the tricks that make the craft come together.

We’ve got lots of projects to work on, so if you are an old hand at craft, or if you have never tried DIY Steiner, come and join us – there is no nicer way to earn your community hours than filling the Craft Group stall. And we are always on the lookout for new creations – if you want to do your craft time at home, please get in touch with us through our mailbox. We particularly love to hear from woodworkers, as there appears to be an insatiable demand for handmade wooden Steiner toys!

Contact craftgroup@oranaschool.com to join our mailing list or to let us know if you want to become an at-home crafter.

We have our very own Pinterest page so we can keep up with those brilliant craft ideas which help make the Craft Group stall at the Spring Fair so appealing. Or drop in one day and look at the CG display cabinet in the foyer of the Kurrajong room to see what we’ve been doing recently.

Watch out for our articles through the year in the Leaflet and Seasons to keep up with all the CG news, and keep an eye on this page for any changes to dates.

PS: Remember to email the craft group mailbox and get on our mailing list to get the latest information on when CG will be happening, as this is how we’ll be announcing any last minute changes, and to make sure you are on our list of crafters if you’d like to come along.
